Interested in joining the Sugar Squad?

We are looking to add a little sweetness to our team! We are looking for an outgoing, friendly, and reliable individual to join the Sugar Squad as a Spin Artist! If you love working in a fast-paced, fun environment and are passionate about delivering top-notch customer service, this could be the perfect role for you. A sweet tooth doesn’t hurt either!

Please note this application is for individuals who do not wish to work solo events requiring them to transport the cart and equipment to events. In this role, you will always be working with a Lead Spin Artist who will be responsible for transporting the cart and equipment. If you wish to be considered for a role working as a lead and/or working solo events, please see our Lead Spin Artist job posting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Customer Interaction: Serve as a cashier or spin artist at events, providing excellent customer service and engaging with customers with a smile. You will be working in a team setting with other Cotton Sugar Co. employees at all assigned events.

  • Problem Solving and Working with a Team: Handle any complications that arise during event setup or operation, and be able to quickly adapt and troubleshoot with your team members.

  • Working in a Fast Paced Environment: Cotton candy spins up QUICKLY! And our customers line up just as fast! Many events have little down time, so keeping up with the pace is essential.

  • Set up/Tear Down: While the Lead Spin Artist will be responsible for bringing and setting up/tearing down the cart and equipment, you may be asked to assist with these tasks as needed.

Requirements:

Must have proven experience with the responsibilities listed above along with the following:

  • Must be 18+.

  • Must be available to work weekends and evenings. Weekend availability in the spring and summer is essential, including holidays (Memorial Day, July 4th). We will of course accommodate vacations/weekends off as requested, but ask for you to commit to general open availability on nights/weekends.

  • Events generally require standing for long periods of time and may require lifting up to 30 lbs. *We are committed to providing reasonable accommodations to individuals with disabilities who otherwise meet the requirements of this role.

  • Must have transportation to and from events. Transporting the cart and equipment is not required in this role, however you may be asked to assist with set up/tear down.

  • Reliability & commitment - Our customers come first, and we are committed to delivering not only the sweetest but most reliable service. If you commit to working an event, we are counting on you to represent our business by being there when scheduled and arriving on time.

  • Please note that hours can vary depending on the season and team availability. Average hours during spring/summer will range from 1-10 hours a week, but may exceed this. The slower winter season may have weeks with 0 hours.

    Compensation

  • Hourly pay based on experience. Hourly pay will vary based on role assigned for event (for example, an event where you work as a spin artist will have a higher pay rate than cashiering for an event). You can expect a mix of these roles.

  • 100% of customer tips go straight to the person(s) working the event.

  • All the cotton candy you can eat!
