What is cotton candy made of?

Plain old sugar! Plus food-grade oils and food coloring. We personally mix all flavors by hand fresh for each and every event! We have plenty of dye-free options and most of our fruit flavors are made simply with food grade essential oil. We also have the option of using organic sugar if you choose! If you have any concerns around food allergies, shoot us an email at hello@cottonsugarco.com and we’ll gladly provide you an ingredients list.

What do I need to provide when I book cart service?

We bring a 100 ft extension cord, so we just need to set up within 100 ft of a 120v outlet or generator (provided by you). We also request that you have a flat, even space to set up the cart (6x6 minimum), and let us know in advance if there is any grass, rough terrain or steps that we will need to navigate. Please also ensure there is a space to load and unload our equipment from our vehicle.

How much cotton candy can be served at my event?

When you book cart service, we will spin puffs continuously for your event. The only limitation is how much the machine itself can handle. It can produce 45-50 puffs per hour so keep that in mind when determining how many hours to book based on your guest count. Please note that we may need to occasionally power down/switch out the machine for events longer than an hour, which requires about a 10 minute break.

How do I book my event and pick my flavors and add-ons?

Start by filling out our inquiry form where you will provide basic details including the date/time of your event and party size. We will let you know if we’re able to take on your event, and if so, we’ll send you instructions for making a deposit to secure the date. Once your deposit is made, you will receive another form where you can select flavors, add-ons, and let us know more about your event. We’ll email you a confirmation with all of your details and price adjustments based on add-ons for your approval.

What is your cancellation policy?

A full refund of your deposit will be issued if your event is canceled 30 days or more before event. 50% refund of deposit if canceled 29-15 days before event. Deposit will not be refunded if canceled 14 or less days before event. EXCEPTION: If your event is cancelled the day of/day before due to inclement weather, we'll do our best to coordinate a make-up date or else we’ll issue a refund. t’s enough of a bummer to have to cancel your outdoor event because of weather… we’ll try to make it less of one.

Do you ever do events where you sell by the puff vs. all inclusive cart service?

We will consider pay-per-puff events, but our general model is cart service which is paid by the hour, and your guests receive free puffs (think of it as cotton candy catering). For pay-per-puff events, a minimum spend must be met, and you will be billed for the remaining amount if not. Email us at hello@cottonsugarco.com if you want to discuss a pay-per-puff event.

How does the cotton candy machine work??

At least five people ask this at every party we come to! My answer: MAGIC! The real answer: you pour flavored sugar into the machine, and it heats up and melts. Then a motor pushes the melted sugar up through the middle (centrifugal force!) and it comes out like little strings… we catch those on the cones and voila! You have your glorious puff of cotton candy! Prepare to be mesmerized by the magic!
